Separation Anxiety

While you may not be familiar with canine separation anxiety, you are probably familiar with its symptoms. While you are gone, your dog may do one or several of the following:
Chew destructively, bark or whine, inappropriate urination and/or defecation, drool, pace, tremble, vomit, or worse
Fear of people, dogs, sounds, and objects-
Fear in dogs can cause anxiety, stress and lead to health issues.. Helping your dog overcome their fear through desensitization and counter conditioning(pairing with something that your dog REALLY LOVES) can help them live a longer, healthier life.
Resource Guarding-
Growling at you over, feeding bowls, toys, bones, or sleeping areas
Leash aggression-
Reactivity and lunging at others dogs or people while on leash
New puppy at home-
Set up confinement and management areas to keep your puppy safe and prevent unwanted behaviors, introduce to other dogs, cat, new baby or children
New Dog orientation-
Newly adopted dogs need the same management and boundaries that puppies do. When you bring a dog home from a shelter, or from a previous home we don't always know what kind of training or issues they might have. It is important to start them off with training, schedule and management to avoid any problems. Generally when you bring a new dog home they are on their best behavior for the first couple of weeks. This is commonly known as the "Honeymoon Period"! As soon as they settle in and feel more comfortable they will revert to their normal behaviors. This may be chewing, barking, or stealing food off the counters. Learn how to avoid these before they start.
